Folk master from Kavalerovo revives Russian pottery traditions
Slavic pottery traditions are reviving in Kavalerovo today. Aleksey Kuzmenko is the local potter who uses ancient slavic traditions in his works.
His pottery, «Svetlitsa», is an art space as well as an exhibition hall for the citizens of the village. Kuzmenko uses local clay and ancient technology.
The shelves of «Svetlitsa» ressemble museum shelves. It even has different sections, for example, slavic section. Many works can be read as books since they are decorated with Old Russian alphabet.
