«Land of the leopard» national park celebrates its 8th anniversary
On April 5th «Land of the leopard» celebrates its birthday. This year the park is at its 8th anniversary.
The national park was created in Primorye by the decree of the Government of Russia on April 5th, 2012. The national park joined together the territories of «Leopardovy» federal reserve and territories next to it.
In 2017, with the help of photo traps, 86 adult leopards and 21 kittens were spotted in the park. The population of this far eastern cat has doubled since. More over, 28 Amur tigers were spotted in the park the same year. It is one of the biggest tiger packs of Russia.
