Strawberry from Suifenhe was with a surprise

An excellent kind of perishable products, which did not look the same way, alerted the Rosselkhoznadzor employees. Their suspicions were justified, Vesti: Primorye reported with reference to RIA Novosti.

In the samples taken from two batches of strawberries with a total weight of about eight tons supplied to Ussuriisk from Suifenhe, specialists from the Primorsky Interregional Veterinary Laboratory discovered antibiotics. And also the excess of the residual amount of pesticide "lufenuron", the use of which is prohibited in Russia.

When ingested, streptomycin and its derivatives can cause toxic and allergic reactions, including fever, dermatitis, skin rash, itching, dizziness, etc.

The head of Russian agricultural supervision, Sergei Dankvert, said that the technical regulations of the Customs Union do not contain a method for determining antibiotics in berries, so it was examined as dairy products. However, the presence of antibiotics in plant products in our country is not regulated by law, which means that the Rosselkhoznadzor does not have the authority to remove strawberries from circulation. The Office already drew the attention of Rospotrebnadzor to this problem, but received no response. Although the existing security system should be changed.
