Russian vaccines’ efficacy is tested against omicron
All Russian vaccines against coronavirus infection are being tested for efficacy against the omicron variant.
According to Tatyana Golikova, the vice prime-minister of Russia, all of the scientific institutions that developed the Russian vaccines are checking the level of efficacy.
Golikova added that it may take two to three weeks to test its effectiveness.
If a new vaccine is needed because of the omicron coronavirus variant, it will be registered, Golikova said.
On December 19th 454 residents of Primorye were tested positive with coronavirus.
Since the beginning of the pandemic 96 736 cases have already been registered in the region. In total, 81 306 people have already recovered from the infection.
