More than 1300 orphans have been rehomed to the families of Primorsky region in 2016

Since the beginning of 2016, during the period of the social project "Children of Primorsky region" realization, 1371 orphans have been rehomed to the families of Primorsky region. Most of rehomed children are from Ussuriysk, Spassk-Dalniy and Volno-Nadezhdinsky village orphanages.

According to Eugeniya Beek, the head of the Department of Children's Rights Protection of Primorsky Region, currently a lot of work is being conducted on rehoming children to the families and preventing child abandonment. Thanks to a whole range of measures the number of orphans continues to decline. Since the beginning of 2016, 1371 children have been rehomed to the families of Primorsky region, 825 of them on trusteeship basis, 248 have got a foster family, 165 have been adopted and 133 children have returned to their birth families.

According to the regional administration, the Governor of Primorsky region, Vladimir Miklushevsky, has initiated  a large social project "Children of Primorsky region" in the end of last year. This project was initiated in order to turn Primorsky region into a territory without orphans. "New Year's Eve in the family" campaign has started on the 1st of November within the framework of the social project. This campaign will run until the 10th of January, 2017.
Each resident of Primorsky Region can participate in this campaign, invite the child left without parental care and give him a real family celebration.
