Kozhemyako commented the story from the live broadcast with Vladimir Putin

An operation to save animals from Srednyaya Bay into the Okhotsk Sea began in Primorye.
This became known during the "Live broadcasting" with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday, 20th of June.
The head of state stressed that there are many interested people in the situation with kill whales, so the problem is not easy to solve.
According to Oleg Kozhemyako, Governor of Primorsky Region, today a special day for animals - two killer whales and four belugas - will be transported from the Medium Bay to the area of their catch. In general, sea animals have to overcome about 1.8 thousand kilometers.
Oleg Kozhemyako focused on the fact that the Administration of Primorsky Region will continue to promote the release of other animals. And now specialists from the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of Primorye are working in Medium Bay.
In developing the route and conditions of transportation, the proposals of the Working Group of the Re-adaptation Consulium and the team of international experts Jean-Michel Cousteau were taken into account.
According to the program, animals will be released in several groups. Killer whales and belugas will be equipped with satellite tags so that they can observe their behavior in their natural habitat.
In the course of the “"live broadcasting"” it was noted that such events did not happen again and mammals were not caught in such numbers, the Government of the Russian Federation decided to change the regulatory framework to ban catch for cultural and educational purposes, leaving only for scientific purposes and for the peoples of the north regions.
