Ivan Shtyl won two "gold" at the stage of the World Cup in canoeing and kayaking
From 25th to 27th of May in the city of Duisburg (Germany), the second stage of the World Cup in canoe and kayak rowing took place, which was attended by more than 600 athletes from 52 countries. Russia was represented by 23 oarsmen, among them a coastal canoeist, Olympic bronze medalist Ivan Shtyl.
As reported by "Vesti: Primorye" referring to the Department of Physical Education and Sport of Primorsky Krai, for the Primorye performances on the rowing channel in Duisburg ended with two gold medals. The first "gold" he won at a distance of 200 meters in a single canoe with a result of 39,974 seconds, ahead of the nearest rivals almost to the hull of the boat.
The second highest award Shtil won with team-mate Alexander Kovalenko at a distance of 200 meters in canoe deuce with a confident advantage of more than one second.
Now Ivan Shtyl will begin preparations for the European Championships in rowing and kayaking, which will be held from June 6 to 8 in Serbian Belgrade.
