The holiday of spring and labor was celebrated by representatives of some national diasporas in Vladivostok on previous weekend. Nowruz is a traditional holiday of many Central Asian countries. Nowruz is being celebrated on 21th of March, but the main festivity was held on Saturday.

The orchestra is masterfully playing national Uzbek music instruments. Traditional music marks the beginning of the main spring holiday.

A hot fight is being performed on a specially prepared ring. There is no even a single national celebration without national Uzbek fight. Nowruz unites not only Uzbeks - it is celebrated throughout whole Central Asia by Tajiks, Turkmens, Kazakhs and so on. In 2009, UNESCO included Nowruz in the list of the intangible cultural heritage of mankind and recommended to preserve this cultural tradition. The non-governmental organization of Uzbeks arranges the celebration of this holiday for already the fifth year in Vladivostok.

Bakhodir Nurakov, a chairman of the "Adolat" non-governmental organization of Uzbeks:
"We arrange this national holiday not only for Uzbeks, but for all residents of Primorsky region. And we invite other national diasporas - Ukrainians, Byelorussians, Kirghiz and Tajiks to participate. This holiday is not only for Uzbeks, but for everyone".

Traditional dances and cheerful songs are an important part of the celebration. But to really understand the culture, you need to taste it. During this year Nowruz celebration all the guests had a chance to taste traditional pilaf and Sumalak.

The holidays of the national diasporas are always an opportunity to taste traditional cuisine, to get acquainted with the customs and culture of different nationalities we live side by side with.
