Four rarest leopards were caught on camera in Primorye
Specialists from the Land of the Leopard national park in Primorsky Krai received unique footage of a large family of Far Eastern leopards. A photo trap captured an adult predator and her three cubs on a mountain top.
The pictures were taken by an automatic camera in the Northern part of the national park. The adult leopard, identified as Leo 117F took her cubs to the mountain top.
Photo and video recording of Far Eastern leopard kittens is a rare occurrence. In contrast to adults, red-listed cat cubs are less often caught by camera traps due to the caution of their mothers. Females try not to take their offsprings near common animal trails where most of automatic cameras are installed. In this regard, the appearance of Leo 117F in the video accompanied by three kittens at once was a joyful event for the scientists of the Land of the Leopard.
