According to the regional department of fisheries and aquatic biological resources, compared to 2015 year harvest of scallop and sea cucumber in Primorsky region has increased. It is reported by "News: Primorye" with reference to the Administration of Primorsky region.

Specialists said: "Within 2016 aquaculture enterprises grew 3,745 tons of scallop, which is 1.5 tons more than in 2015. Harvest of sea cucumber has increased on 500 tons and reached 1614 tons. 1 153 tons of laminaria were collected in the past year."

Aquaculture companies have grown 6,859 tons of sea products within 2016 year. This is almost 2 tons more than was collected in 2015.

At present, there are 52 fishery farms in Primorsky region, which have a right to use 107 fish cultural areas with a total area of 20 thousand hectares.

It should be noted, that within the framework of the regional state program on development of fishery industry, aquaculture enterprises of Primorsky region will get subsidies in amount of 20 million rubles in 2017. These funds are aimed at juveniles’ dispersion, leasing and purchasing of equipment.
