The plan of events dedicated to the Year of Ecology has been approved in Primorsky region. The order was signed by the governor of Primorsky region, Vladimir Miklushevsky.

The plan includes 140 events in key areas of environmental protection, all the events are divided into seven sections: protected areas and wildlife, forest, water, air, waste disposal, environmental education and international cooperation.

Events will be held throughout the year and will increase the effectiveness of the protection and conservation of biodiversity, will help to draw public attention to the protected areas, to preserve and increase the area of forest plantations, as well as to stop the illegal timber trade.

 "Special attention will also be paid to the management of water resources, reduction of pollutant emissions into the atmosphere, raising the level of ecological culture of the population," - noted in the department.

The total amount of funding allocated for the measures will be more than 1.3 billion rubles.

According to the decree of President Vladimir Putin,  2017 year  is declared as the Year of Ecology.
