A new whale prison may be created next year
Animal rights activists and ecologists of Primorye are anxious. New whale prison may appear in Primorye next year. Federal Agency for Fishery is planning to catch thousands of sea mammals such as seals ans white whales in 2021.
The All-Russia scientific institute of fishery and oceanography approuves the catch. 35 white whales, 2500 walruses are planned to be caught for indigenous people of Chukotka, 6000 sales for industrial slaughter. 10 white whales and four killer whales will be also caught for scientific purposes. However, the official document has no mention of what scientific purposes will be satisfied.
