Ministry of Defence published unique photos related to Vladivostok

The Ministry of Defence of Russia created a special section on its website in honour of the day of the Russian Navy. In this section, some unique photos of famous Russian admirals and captains were published.

The website has black and white photos as well as modern photographes from family albums. Most part of these photos was never published before.

For exemple, photos of the legendary admiral Nikolay Kuznetsov are available. He was a Soviet naval officer who achieved the rank of Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union and served as a People’s Commissar of the Navy during the Second World War.

Nikolay Kuznetsov left two documentary books for his descendants - «Nakanune» and «Na flotah boevaya trevoga». The aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov is named in his honour.
