Chefs surprised tourists during the mussel festival in Vladivostok

Mussel festival is being held in Vladivostok and various restaurants and cafes are surprising their guests with different ways of cooking the mollusc.

Pacific mussel is the center of attention of gourmands and tourists. Today, it is being fried, stewed with wine, added to soups and salads.

Among seafood delicacy, mussel is not considered as something special. It is more like a seaweed. Moreover, this fact doesn’t make it less precious. If, of course, it is grown in ecologically clean bays.

Farm grown mussel is nothing different from a wild one. Molluscs that ready to serve are from two to five centimetres big. They are being delivered to restaurants alive, as it helps to preserve their taste.

Mussel festival was supported by tens of restaurants all over Primorye. Each facility chooses its own way of cooking the seafood, but for a common price - three hundred rubles for five hundred grams.
