Primorye joined the all-Russian ecological campaign for planting forests on Saturday, may 18. In the Park named after Chumak in Ussuriysk, tree seedlings together with residents of the city were planted by the Governor of Primorye Oleg Kozhemyako.

All-Russian day of forest planting is an annual social and environmental action aimed at fostering respect for the Russian forest, drawing attention to the issues of its preservation, restoration and enhancement.

Oleg Kozhemyako together with representatives of public organizations, business and residents of Ussuriysk planted 80 seedlings of birch and ash in Chumak Park. It became one more stage of improvement of the place of rest favourite for citizens. In a few years, the Park has significantly changed – the work here was carried out within the framework of the national project "Formation of a comfortable urban environment"

The Governor thanked the residents for their activity, noting that this is a worthy example for the younger generation.

"It is great that here we disembark in the square, which had been abandoned. And now he did not know. Well, in the improvement of participating youth, children, which subsequently will continue the case," he said.

According to the acting Vice-Governor of Primorsky Krai Elena Parkhomenko, the holding of this action has become a good tradition – annually in may in cities and villages planted fir, Korean pine.
