The Kremlin made an official statement about the transfer of the capital of the far Eastern Federal district to Vladivostok
Vladimir Putin agreed with the proposal of the acting Governor of Primorsky Krai Oleg Kozhemyako to transfer the administrative center of the far Eastern Federal district to Vladivostok. The official information about this официальноv published on the website of the President of Russia kremlin.ru.
As the press Secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov commented to journalists, the transfer of the capital of the far Eastern Federal district will be issued by Putin's order.
The initiative to transfer the capital of the DFO from Khabarovsk to Vladivostok to the President of the country this year was addressed by the acting Governor of Primorye Oleg Kozhemyako. In his letter, he pointed out that Vladivostok throughout its history was the trade and economic center of the Far East, and Primorsky Krai today is the leader of the economic development of the region. His proposal was supported by Deputy Prime Minister and Plenipotentiary of the President of the Russian Federation in the far Eastern Federal district Yuri Trutnev, who instructed to prepare a report to Vladimir Putin before December 1 on the advantages of moving the capital of the Far East to Primorye.
At the address of Oleg Kozhemyako, the President of the country wrote a resolution: "I Agree."
