SSK "Star" has begun mass production of large-tonnage vessels intended for the transport of oil and petroleum products.

According to Vesti: Primorye, citing Interfax, at the ceremony of cutting metal for the second tanker of the Aframax class with a deadweight of 114 thousand tons at the shipbuilding complex Zvezda in the city of Bolshoy Kamen of the Primorsky Territory took part Rosneft Oil Company Igor Sechin and Acting Governor of Primorsky Krai Oleg Kozhemyako.

Tankers will operate on two types of fuel, including gas, they meet the latest environmental standards. The vessels are intended for an unlimited navigation area and will transport crude oil and petroleum products, including along the Northern Sea Route.

In 2019, the construction phase of the first ship on the stocks will be completed and the ship will be launched for completion, testing and commissioning.

The laying of the lead vessel at the open, heavy construction slipway took place on September 11, 2018.

CCS Zvezda is being created on the basis of the Far Eastern Center for Shipbuilding and Ship Repair by the Consortium of Rosneftegaz JSC, PJSC NK Rosneft and Gazprombank JSC.
