IN PRIMORYE REGION CELEBRATES THE MEMORY OF THE FALLEN DURING THE JAPANESE INTERVENTION IN THE FAR EAST
These days in Ussuriysk celebrates the memory of those killed during the Japanese intervention in the Far East. They are carrying out "Korean Cultural Center" with the participation of other national communities of the Ussuriisk urban district.
In the night from 4th to 5th of April 1920 Japanese forces attacked the legal authorities of the Russian government and military garrisons in Primorye Region. Then in Nikolsk-Ussuriisk without trial had been shot and the leaders of the Korean community. That time the Bolsheviks put up fierce resistance to the Japanese aggressors, Korean also supported them.The Korean cultural center celebrated this date already for ten years.
Nikolay Kim, Chairman of the "National-Cultural Autonomy of Koreans in the Primorsky Region: "Today, everyone knows about our event and many would like to participate in it. It is military units and the military enlistment office, and many public organizations. Representatives of national communities - that the Armenians, Belarusians, Ukrainians, and the Tatar-Bashkir participate in the event.
Primorsky Region is the place where started the history Russian Koreans. The beginning of XX century because of the unprecedented hunger Korean Peninsula hundred thousand of Korean farmer have moved to live in the territory of Primorye Region. In such a memorable days is also a chance to present a unique exhibition hall of the history of Russian Koreans, where presents rare photographs of the first settlers in the Primorsky region.
Alexander Kostenko, Chairman of the Economic Policy Committee of the Legislative Assembly of the Ussuriisk, "They are fighters for independence, fighters for the integrity of our state and our territory. It is a multinational territory, so we young people need such examples, experience of the history to learn how to defend the honor and independence of our country. "
In 2015, national-cultural autonomy Ussuriisk Koreans bought a house, where they dream to create a history home-museum. In Primorye are living about 19 thousand Koreans. Most of Koreans are living in the Ussuriisk and Artyom. They also are making Korean newspaper. One of the tasks of the Korean community in Primorye is involve representatives of all the peoples living in the region to the activities.
As a rule August 15 in the day of the national holiday of the Korean people all diplomatic officials of South and North Korea, who are working in Vladivostok meet together.
