Sorochinsky fair was held in the center of Vladivostok.
The Sorochinsky Fair continued the Gogol traditions in the center of Primorye. The holiday began to play and started singing on the Sportivnaya Embankment of Vladivostok. Visitors and residents of the city were waited by costumed performances, performances by creative groups, meetings with craftsmen. Our correspondents also joined the culture of the Slavic peoples.
The Sorochinsky Fair, in a maritime manner, though different from the famous Nikolai Gogol, still unites artisans and artists. Artisans and folklore groups from all over Primorye gathered in Vladivostok. Here is a street of craftsmen, a competition of national costumes, a celebration of a folk song!
Ukrainian “Chervona Cherry” is performed, by the way, by the original primorchanki! To so sincerely sing, they say, we need only our common Slavic roots!
Tatiana Savinova, a member of the ensemble Veresen, Vladivostok: “We mainly sing very old Ukrainian songs. These are songs of the first immigrants - grandmothers who came to the Far East. ”
The famous fair that was born in Poltava region, already 400 years old! But the real fair boom began in the middle of the XIX century. Then a large clay pot cost 2 kopecks, and a bucket of dried pears - 15, along with a bucket. Well, for a couple of chervonets it was possible to dress pretty well. Now handmade souvenirs - goods at the fair piece, so not cheap. But how attractive are the home-dwellers, plush childhood friends and Slavic dolls.
