Abe and Kim Jong-un can meet in Vladivostok
The Government of Japan, as the main option for holding a meeting between Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and the leader of the DPRK, Kim Jong-no, this year is considering the site of the Eastern Economic Forum (WEF) in Vladivostok in September. This was reported on Thursday by the Kyodo agency with reference to government sources.
According to "Vesti: Primorye" referring to TASS, the Prime Minister of Japan regularly visits the WEF, and in 2018 his visit to Vladivostok should also go according to plan. Meanwhile, as Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian president, earlier stated, and the leader of the DPRK received an invitation to visit Russia, the VEF site was proposed as one of the options. Nevertheless, according to Peskov, precise details of the possible visit of Kim Jong-un to the Russian Federation are not yet available.
Earlier, Kyodo informed that Kim Jong-un, during the summit held in Singapore on June 12 with US President Donald Trump, announced the possibility of holding bilateral talks with the Japanese prime minister.
