Primorye scientists go to sea for 1000 days
Seaside scientists have opened the season of marine fisheries research in the Far East. Before the expedition the specialists of TINRO-Center conducted running tests of the scientific vessel "Professor Kaganovskiy". Ahead of the crew 2 months of work in the area of the South Kuril Islands and the waters of the Sea of Okhotsk. In total, in 2018 scientists will spend about a thousand days at sea and will estimate the reserves of more than 600 species of aquatic biological resources. The results of such studies are especially important for fishermen, because they allow to determine the allowable catch of commercial fish.
