Traditional ball was carried out on 19th of November to celebrate Foundation Day of Maritime State University named after admiral G.I. Nevelskoy. Dozens of dance couples performed waltz, contradance, polka and other historical dances to the accompaniment of dance orchestra.

For the sixth year in a row, students of Maritime State University celebrate the anniversary of the University in such an unusual format. Students start to rehearse almost right after the summer holidays. Six weeks of regular trainings didn’t distract from the educational process, but made it more interesting.

"Of course, the newcomers were embarrassed, some did not dare to dance ... But I'm happy with the result, because there were people who genuinely enjoyed the process. Many come to the ball from year to year. Even graduates participate in this event! And it's very pleasant. And,you know, once, one of the couples got to know each other at the rehearsals and later they got married, "- says the trainer Yevgeniya Kunitskaya.

As a result, about 120 people took part in this festive event, including guests from the historical clubs and schools.

Participants have been performing classical dances, like different kinds of waltz (Figured waltz, Spanish waltz, Vienna waltz) and also a lot of agile contradances.

Dance orchestra of Maritime State University named after admiral G.I. Nevelskoy was responsible for the musical illustration of the ball. The whole atmosphere was setting up the students and guests of the evening on a cheerful mood.

Alexandrovsky Maritime School (current name: Maritime State University named after admiral G.I. Nevelskoy) was officially opened on November 14, 1890. This event marked the beginning of the development of maritime education in Primorsky region of Russia.
