Multi-ethnic audience gathered in the hall of the Primorsky Territory Administration. The 4th Ethnic Congress is being held there.

Representatives of different ethnic groups are going to discuss present problems and future plans. Primorsky region Legislative Assembly speaker Viktor Gorchakov appears with the opening speech, in fact, he reports on achievements in the matter of tolerance and informs that the law on support of small indigenous peoples has been adopted in Primorsky region.

Talking about the achievements, we can point out reconstruction of the Synagogue in Vladivostok, construction of a new Orthodox Church and Mosque in Nakhodka. Besides, Mosque will also be built in Vladivostok, suitable site is already selected.  Now are looking for a place for the House of Peoples. It is hoped that by the time the place will be found, Primorsky region Cossacks will finally choose their leader. Moreover, Far Eastern Branch of Russian Academy of Science has published a new book - "Peoples of Primorsky region." The book has been represented on the Eastern Economic Forum.

158 nations live in Primorsky Territory, for comparison, there are 193 nations in Russian Federation.

After the end of the official part of the Congress, noisy and cheerful, as good neighbors – diasporas of Primorsky region move to the esplanade of the “Sports harbor”.  Pavilions of different Ethnic groups are being deployed here, national handicrafts and cuisines, songs and dances can be seen and enjoyed here. Here you can see the cosmopolitan Primorsky region in all colors.
