During the customs inspection of the bus, the customs officers found hidden goodsl. In the cavity under the stairs were found transparent bags, which were sawn walrus tusks.

As reported Konstantin Penkov, the deputy head of the department of administrative investigations of the Ussuriysk customs, a total of 46 parts of walrus tusks were seized and sent for examination. Their preliminary cost is more than 300 000 thousand rubles.

According to the results of the inspection, a decision will be made to initiate an administrative violation case, the responsibility for which is punishable. The offender faces an administrative fine - up to three times the value of the goods and confiscation.

It is important that walrus hunting is prohibited all over the world. The subspecies of these animals living in Russia are listed in the Red Book of Russia. Moving across the border, as well as trade in walrus bones crafts is regulated by the CITES international convention.
