Applications for admission to the St. Petersburg Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet are being accepted in Primorsky region. On 29th of August rector of the academy, Nikolay Tsiskaridze will select candidates for studying in this elite school. Thus, little citizens of Primorsky region will get one more chance to receive the best choreographic education in the world.

Little citizens of Primorsky region, that have graduated from elementary school, have got a chance to receive the best choreographic education in the world. This year 12 kids will be selected. Applications for admission to the St. Petersburg Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet will be accepted till 20th of August.

The kids have to go through rigorous medical examination. Experts of Cultural Department of Primorsky region say, that selection criteria are very strict, however it is a great chance for talented children, that simply cannot to be missed.

Agreement on this project was signed during the St. Petersburg Economic Forum by the Governor of the Primorsky region, Vladimir Miklushevsky and rector of St. Petersburg Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet, People's Artist of Russia- Nikolai Tsiskaridze.

Vladimir Miklushevsky, the governor of Primorsky region says: "Opening a branch might take a few years of work, which is associated with the preparation of the appropriate premises, legal basis and, of course, teachers’ training."

Nikolai Tsiskaridze,  rector of St. Petersburg Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet says: "I cannot let anything to be done improperly, because, after all, Russian ballet is our national pride"

To implement such an unique project more than 5 million rubles will be allotted from the budget of Primorsky region.

During the first educational year, 12 kids from Primorsky region, that will be enrolled to the St. Petersburg Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet, will study in St. Petersburg. Then, when an appropriate premises will be chosen, legal matters will be solved and  teachers will be found Primorsky filliation of Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet will open its doors in Vladivostok.
