COVID vaccination is planned to be included to the vaccination calendar
The anti-coronavirus vaccination is planned to be included to the national vaccination calendar. The vaccination, however, will stay voluntary.
Such a legislation is planned to be discussed during State Duma’s plenary fall sessions.
As long as vaccination is not on the national calendar, no money from the federal budget can be spent on purchasing vaccines. So that regions do not have to bear the additional financial burden, mass vaccination is now paid for from the Reserve Fund of the Government.
As previously explained by the speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, the legislation would allow the purchase of vaccines against the new coronavirus infection at the expense of the federal budget. There is no provision in the document that with its adoption, vaccination against coronavirus will become mandatory.
