In the Primorye Art Gallery an exhibition opened following a competition of graphic works dedicated to the memory of the seaside artist Andrei Kamalov. In the creative competition, professionals and amateurs from all over the Far East participate.
In the seaside art, Andrei Kamalov has a special place. One of the first who went beyond socialist realism. At the end of the twentieth century, he was a true guru in the artistic environment of Vladivostok. His unusual images at the junction of Orthodoxy and paganism, the unique techniques that he owned, still cause interest and the desire to imitate. Kamalov's memory contest continues the themes of his work.
Olga Dilaktorskaya, widow of the artist, professor of FEFU: "He has the main theme" Ocean and Earth ". Philosophical theme. We live near the edge, on the border of the ocean and the mainland. For him it was important. We leave this topic in our competition. "
