The progress of projects aimed at implementing the Russian President's Decree to stop the migration outflow from the Far East by 2035 was discussed during a meeting on summarizing the results of 2021 and the priorities for 2022, chaired by Yuri Trutnev, Deputy Prime Minister and Plenipotentiary Representative of the Russian President in the Far Eastern Federal District. 

State policy measures for the accelerated development of the Far East have a positive impact on migration dynamics. From 2013 to 2020, the outflow of population decreased by more than 2.5 times. In the first 11 months of 2021 the migration growth in the Far East amounted to 5.5 thousand people. Population growth, according to the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat), was recorded in five Far Eastern regions.

The largest inflow of population was registered in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The number of those who arrived in the region exceeded the number of those who left by 7.65 thousand people. The growth of migration flow in Yakutia was 84.7%, which is more than three times faster than the national average (in Russia the growth rate is 26%).

The second place is taken by Khabarovsky Krai (+5.66 thousand people). Positive results of population migration are recorded in Kamchatka (+1.93 thousand people), Chukotka (+0.6 thousand people) and Sakhalin Oblast (+0.8 thousand people).
