Voluntary vaccination of children and adolescents against COVID-19 is gradually beginning in Primorsky Krai. The two-component vaccine has already arrived in the region and is being distributed to medical institutions. According to the regional Ministry of Health, Primorsky Krai received 960 doses of the vaccine Gam-KOVID-Vac-M (Sputnik M) developed for children and adolescents aged 12-17.
Note that vaccination of children and adolescents against COVID-19 is voluntary. Children up to and including 14 years of age will need parental consent, and adolescents from 15 to 17 years of age can sign the consent form themselves.
Experts note that now it is children who are massively infected with the Omicron variant because of the contagiousness of the virus.
