A bill on the assignment of pensions to indigenous people was submitted to the State Duma. 

Amendments are made to Article 22 of the law "On State Pension Provision in the Russian Federation".

The document proposes to assign the payment based on information from a special list of persons belonging to indigenous people. Those who are not included into this list may submit documents confirming their affiliation with small peoples of the North when applying for a pension.

If passed, the draft law will come into force on February 7, 2022.
