Tropical storm LUPIT struck the Japanese islands of Kyushu and Shikoku last night, causing hurricane-force winds and heavy rain. It is moving northeastward at a speed of about 55 kilometers per hour. This afternoon it will reach the southern Japan Sea and tomorrow morning it will pass over the northern part of Honshu Island. After Honshu, it will enter the Pacific Ocean. Trajectory of the vortex passes at a considerable distance from the Primorsky region and will not affect precipitation, but the wind on the coast will increase to 15-22 m / s, leading to a dangerous increase in the wave height along the eastern coast. In the bays of the southeastern coast there may be waves up to 2.5 - 4 meters big.
