Documentary on the Covid-19 pandemic in Russia and China is being film

VLADIVOSTOK, Jul 30, 2021, Pan Pacific Agency. Russian documentary filmmaker Yulia Vishnevetskaya is filming a documentary on how Primorsky Krai (Russia) and neighboring China are coming through the Covid-19 pandemic, the filmmaker said at the screening of her documentary “Katya and Vasya Go to School” in Vladivostok.

Yulia Vishnevetskaya has been working as a journalist-reporter for Russian and foreign media since 2007. “Katya and Vasya Go to School” was filmed in 2020, at the same time the film won the “Laurel Branch” award at the “Artdocfest” festival in Moscow as the best non-fiction film.

Film’s screening in Vladivostok was preceded by a special warning message, because it was produced with the financial support of the “Nastoyaschee Vremya” TV channel (recognized as a a foreign agent media in Russia), “Vesti-Primorye” TV channel reported.

Such a message is necessary according to the Russian law on foreign agents. The administrative punishment for non-compliance with the requirements of the law – a fine of 3-4 thousand rubles for officials, of 30-40 thousand rubles for legal entities.
