The "red tide" has struck the Amur Bay water area once again. A bright orange streak stretches along the coast of Vladivostok and alarms the citizens. 

From the clear island waters, where the sea life is boiling, the wind has brought it in. The bright brick strip along the city's coast is an unusual phenomenon for spring. The Amur Bay used to bloom so lushly in summer, when the water got warm.

The global warming is to blame. In recent years the water near Kamchatka’s shores has warmed up by five degrees. A greenhouse paradise for the reproduction of toxic microalgae has become deadly for marine communities.
