A new law prohibits not allowing children with no tickets on public transport

In Russia, a law came into force that prohibits forcibly removing children under the age of 16 from public transport for unpaid fares if they are traveling unaccompanied. It was decided to amend the statutes of transport companies after a series of scandals when children who could not pay for their ride were dropped off in unfamiliar places.

Russian parliamentarians believe that such amendments should be extended not only to children. It is possible that the fare rules will be changed for other categories of passengers. For example, pregnant women, the disabled and seniors.
