The Day of Conservation Areas and National Parks is being celebrated in Russia on January, 11. There are six State Nature Reserves on the territory of Primorsky region, including the only one in Russia Marine Biosphere Reserve.

According to the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, there are are about 900 natural sanctuaries, including 13 nature reserves, three national parks, botanical gardens, lakes, waterfalls and other interesting eco-tourism attractions.

Also, last year first ecological tunnel in Russia was opened in Khasan district of Primorsky region under Narvinskiy pass. The tunnel’s length is 575-meter. It is located on the historical leopards’ migratory path.

Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection reminds, that first wild animals, like deer,  roe deer and bears have been noticed crossing the road on top of the tunnel on the territory of “Leopards Land” National Park in the end of 2016.

According to Vladimir Miklushevsky , the Governor  of Primorsky region, first in Russia ecological tunnel is fulfilling its task of restoring historical migration path of the Far Eastern leopards in Primorsky region successfully.
