52 memorials of military history of the region are located in Lesozavodsk district. One of them is of particular interest for the citizens of the region that have been protecting its country even peaceful times: during Afghan war and in other hot-spots. 

Black mountain on Ussuri’s shore is one of the most important memorial places pf Primorye. Its name does not have any special meaning (it was named after the rock it is made of) but it has a particular place in the memory of heroic deeds of Primorye. This is the memorial for the solders who fought in the Afghan war. It was opened in 1991 and is still considered to be the first official Afghan war and other hot-spots obelisk of the Far East.
