Scary statistics shocked Primorye this week - 6 people have drowned in the sea. 

One of this week’s heroes is Maksim Ionkin. Yesterday’s high schooler saved16 people’s lives during the weekend. 

Maksim has only graduated from school this year. During the summer, he decided to work as a life guard on a beach in Livadia. 

Maksim Ionkin: «It was very weird seeing people looking at the drowning ones and deciding to help them but only getting caught in the water themselves eventually». 

According to the lifeguard, low-tide currents are to blame in the accidents. Annually, small waves take lives of hundreds of people all over the world.
