A young patient from Primorye with an innate otolaryngology disease had a unique surgery. A special hearing device was installed by the surgeons of the regional children’s hospital together with their Moscow colleagues.
Yurii Nekrasov, the leading Russian otolaryngologist, came from Moscow in order to train the local surgeons before the surgery.
The new implant method uses the body’s natural ability to transmit the sound via bones. The sound processor do not only catch sounds, but also turn them into vibrations and provide a full sound perception. This prosthesis method is the only way to have a life without disabilities for patients with otolaryngology diseases.
