Workers may get an extra free day on December 31. 

According to the work calendar of 2020, the New Year festivities will last from January 1 to 8. Only the federal legislation can create new national holidays, but this year the ministry of labour considers to allow the employers to make December 31 a holiday for their workers. 

The employee can take a day off on December 31 in advance, if he works an extra day during the weekend or another holiday.
