Members of the Public Council of Ministry of Internal Affairs conduct Counter-extremism lessons in schools of Primorsky region. The main task is to tell students about the origins and causes of this phenomenon and protect them from the possible influence of extremist views.
The lesson is being taught by representative of the Russian Orthodox Church, youth liaison officer and member of the counter-extremism center of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs. The lesson begins with a moment of silence in memory of those who died at the hands of terrorists on September 1, 2004 in Beslan city.
Denis Sidorochkin - Deputy Director of the lyceum №41 says: “We hope that this will bring safety to our children. They will know what terrorism is, why it is dangerous. It will help to prevent similar situations. Such lessons will help to instill patriotism and mutual respect in children.
During the lesson children got information about extremism and terrorism. Specialist of the counter-extremism center of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs explained how to act in such dangerous situation, as terrorist attack. Informed, that extremist and terrorist actions are criminally punishable acts.
Children got really impressed by the speech of Father Igor, who said that it is important to respect each other and be tolerant, be psychologically mature and not depend on other people's opinions. The lesson was interesting and informative. Students took an active part in conversation, asking questions and receiving exhaustive answers.
