Vladimir Arseniev is a geographer, ethnographer and traveler who described Primorye in his numerous works. Almost 100 years ago, his the most famous book «Dersu Uzala» was printed and translated in Berlin. Since that moment Primorye became world famous. 

For the 100th anniversary of Arseniev in 1972 citizens of Arseniev erected a monument on one of Arseniev’s hills. But now, 3 years before his 150th anniversary the author and his works seem to be forgotten. The main monument is slowly falling apart and the monument’s territory looks terrific. 

The local authorities hope that some private businesses will be able to help them reconstructing the monument.
