The governor of Primorye discussed the situation with the second runway in Knevichi airport that is not being used since 2012.
Now the airport has 2 runways. The first one is used constantly and the other, that was built 33 years ago, is not used anymore since 2012 due to its general condition.
Vladivostok’s airport takes the leading positions among airports of the Far East. It is the result of Vladivostok being chosen the capital of the Far East.
In 2018, there were 2,6 millions of tourists. The amount of passengers from Korea increased in 75%, from Japan in 88%, from China in 29% and from other countries of South-East Asia in 21%.
Moreover, in 2030 the number of tourists may increase up to 4,7 millions.
The governor noticed, that it is very important to start the modernization.
