A group of rescuers of the Primorsky regional search and rescue service began work on the accident-free passage of ice and the elimination of congestion on the rivers of Primorye. About it reports "News: Primorye" with reference to the press service of the regional administration.
On March 15 the rescuers are working in the Yakovlevsky district on the river Arsenievka near the bridge, located near the village of Yakovlevka. A week ago, rescuers made measurements of the water level on the river. According to the results of the survey, the ice thickness was 60-80 centimeters. Ice sank all over the riverbed, indicating a low water level.
Rescuers will carry out work to weaken the ice non-explosive ways, in this case – sawing. In the same way, work was carried out on the coastal rivers last year.
"This method is environmentally friendly and justified. Explosive works cause great damage to natural resources, killing young fish", - commented in the institution for civil DEFENSE and emergencies.
Experts added that the work on the rivers will be carried out in other municipalities at the request of local administrations.
