Do everything to prevent extremism and terrorism, show more of peaceful and friendly daily life of people of different nationalities and confessions – are the main tasks for mass media at present.

 

Journalists from all popular mass media gathered in Directorate of Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Telecom, Information Technologies and Mass Communications. Their task is to correctly formulate all information, especially when it comes to criminal news. Always feel the fine line between criticism and extremism.

 

Alexander Tretyakov, the Head of Department of Enforcement of the Federal Safety in Primorsky region stated:

 

The need of today's seminar arises from present governmental interethnic policy, in time of crisis people are very unhappy, I mean in the economic sphere, they are seeking for a way out for the negative energy and, in such situation, every wrong word can become a trigger for the negative energy output.

 

There are more than 150 nationalities in Primorsky region, and facts of extremism, ethnic hatred and animosity are not observed.

 

Russian and Ukrainian Cossacks, Armenians, Jews, Chinese, Koreans, and others lived and worked side by side. Practically all major events organized by Administration of Primorsky region take their place with the participation of national diasporas. International exhibition "PITE" gathered more than a hundred participants from different countries. This exhibition can be called a colorful mosaic of national heritages, it is a calling card, that may attract foreign tourists to our region.

 

Elena Kopylova from "Tiger" Udege community, that is located on the very north of Primorsky region, shows not only the antiquity, but also tells the history of the community, of the times when shamans from the whole Far East came to their Krasnii Yar village to participate in shamans competition.

-I show not only old –time dressing-gowns, that have more than a hundred years history, but also handicrafts of our present-days craftswomen.

 

Vladivostok City Day celebration will gather thousands of citizens, more than hundreds of them are representatives of different diasporas. Uzbeks, Armenians, Belarusians, Ukrainians, Udege, Koreans, and even Gipsies will participate dressed in their folk costumes.
