The latest Eastern Economic Forum definitely has become something more than just business dialogue. Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, was the host of the forum. He came to Vladivostok on September 5. Right after arriving there, he went to Russkii island, where the main sites of the forum were situated. For the first time, Mongolia with its president Khaltmaagiin Battulga took part in the forum. As well as the Mongolian president, the president of South Korea Moon Jae-in was recently elected and Vladivostok was one of his first travel destinations as a president. The prime minister of Japan Shinzo Abe came to Vladivostok for the second time. Also, this year the ambassador of South Africa, the governor of California visited Vladivostok for participating in Eastern Economic Forum.
